New Resource Provides Consumers with Basic Medicaid Information
Washington,
DC, February 11, 2016—The
American Health Lawyers Association (AHLA) is pleased to announce the release
of our newest resource which helps consumers understand the basics of Medicaid.
Medicaid Basics: Eligibility, Coverage,
and Benefits (available for free download at www.healthlawyers.org/MedicaidBasics) provides guidance
and basic information to potential Medicaid beneficiaries and those assisting
them.
“The complexity of
Medicaid is daunting,” says Lois Dehls Cornell, President of AHLA’s Board of
Directors. “Even the courts entrusted with understanding and interpreting its
provisions freely acknowledge their bewilderment when confronted with issues
relating to Medicaid’s administration. This new resource breaks through the
confusion and makes it easy.”
Medicaid
Basics
reflects current information resulting from implementation of the Patient
Protection and Affordable Care Act (ACA)
in a Q&A format and answers frequently asked questions about the
program, such as:
· What
is Medicaid?
·
Do
I qualify for Medicaid coverage?
·
What
does Medicaid cover?
·
Why
do I receive Medicaid through a private company?
·
What
is Medicaid managed care?
AHLA is proud to
provide this useful resource as part of our Public Interest mission, made
possible through the generous donations of AHLA members. You can download this
important resource for free at www.healthlawyers.org/MedicaidBasics.
