Author Opportunities

AHLA Weekly
Contact Bianca Bishop to discuss proposals for bylined feature articles on current awareness topics.

AHLA Connections
To propose a feature article for AHLA's monthly magazine, please contact Bianca Bishop. Feature articles typically include an in-depth analysis of an issue in health law that will impact members' practices—e.g., legislation or regulations, significant court rulings, and important trends. Feature articles should be 2,500-3,000 words.

The Compliance Corner is now a regular feature in AHLA Connections. It is a great way to share your expertise by writing a short article (750 words or less) focusing on advanced issues in the practice of compliance. Articles should discuss compliance nuances or best practices rather than cover a specific regulatory issue or introductory topic. If you want to write but don’t have a topic in mind, we would still like to hear from you. Please contact Bianca Bishop for more information.

AHLA Journal of Health & Life Sciences Law
To propose an article analyzing a discrete legal issue with practical implications for intermediate-to-advanced health lawyers, email journal@healthlawyers.org.

Call for Public Interest Topics
The Public Interest Committee accepts topic proposals throughout the year. Submit your topic here.

 Thanks to our volunteers!

Recognizing Members' Service
Each month, AHLA recognizes members who have provided service to the Association in a variety of ways. Check in frequently.

"I was there the night NHLA was founded in Atlanta. As we ate that buffet dinner and drank from the open bar electing George Barrett and Jamie Clements as our co-Chairpersons, it was noted that most legal organizations were run by a closed clique. Everyone agreed that this new organization should be open to all with speakers, officers, directors, and Board members available to volunteers.

Today, I got Connections magazine and saw the list of volunteers writing, speaking, organizing, and leading the Association.  Next to the list was a column listing ways for any member to become involved.  Today I also applied for a new job.  As I submitted my resume, I noticed how it was ‘beefed up’ with leadership, writing, speaking, and other AHLA activities.

AHLA is available for whatever opportunities you want to utilize to express yourself professionally and, in so doing, to strengthen your resume and make Connections (with a capital and small c).”
