AHLA has a wonderful tradition of members sharing their expertise and insight with each other. Members who give to each other through speaking, writing and other service to the organization are recognized and often asked to participate in one of the many leadership positions available. At last count, there are at least 350 leadership positions in the Association.
AHLA is governed by a Board of 26 members. The Board of Directors meets twice a year in person and several times a year by phone conference. Board members serve on the following Committees: Executive, Finance, Membership, Nominating, Practice Groups, Professional Resources, Programs, and Public Interest, in addition to several Councils, and other groups.
“Call for Leaders” forms for Board nominations and other Committee and Council positions are posted throughout the year on our volunteer page. Learn more about the AHLA Fellows, the David J. Greenburg Award, Top Honors, and other AHLA recognitions by visiting our Recognitions page.
Leadership Community
We are pleased to announce a new resource designed to help AHLA leaders communicate more efficiently and lead more effectively – a Leadership Community. The Leadership Communities are online listserves to enable you to communicate directly and easily with other leaders in your leadership group. We have automatically enrolled leaders in their respective Leadership Communities. To view a list of your communities, go to www.healthlawyers.org/communities, click on “Go to Online Communities” (you will be prompted to log-in), click on the arrow next to “Communities,” and click on “My Communities.”
